A classroom revealed a missing map

Tara Westover recalls entering college with large gaps in the shared knowledge her classmates assumed. In one class she encountered a historical term she did not recognise and asked about it aloud. The moment records not stupidity but the consequence of an education that had omitted whole frameworks.
